Situated at the edge of South Brisbane on a site which, like many edge sites, is residual. A significant element within these residual spaces are the existing urban conditions.  The perception of this space is so heavily driven by sound – not only as a strong cultural precinct but also as a major transport corridor.

The centre features various exhibition, research and workshop spaces which all explore new sound media and interactive technologies.  A permanent set of exhibition spaces are included which exemplify the exploration of sound.  These spaces are about immersing the user into an environment where the tones and the architectural textures are the main features.
